Broken Arrow is a city in the state of Oklahoma, and has the distinction of being the biggest suburb of the city of Tulsa which has a population of just below 112,000. This makes it the 280th biggest city in the country. The city of Broken Arrow is one of the principal cities of the Tulsa Metropolitan region. The Missouri – Kansas – Texas Railroad sold lots of the future site of Broken Arrow in the early 20th century. Its secretary William Fears chose the name for the future city as a reference to the creek community that was forced to relocate from Alabama to Oklahoma along the Trail of Tears. While its economy was previously based on agriculture, the city of Broken Arrow’s current economy has greatly diversified. As such, it now boasts of the 3rd biggest concentration of manufacturers in the state of Oklahoma.
